Mason and the Tractor

Mason has his own toy tractors, but this may be the first time he's actually sat on a real one.  After some coaxing, he was happy to sit up there for his picture,
and he really got into it for a while.

Out For A Ride

We took Mason out for a walk/ride around the neighborhood. He sat back, relaxed and read his books while Phyllis and I did the work.

By the time we got back to his house though, he was asking, "Are we there yet?"

July 4 Vacation at Gulf Shores

We went to the Watermelon Festival at Grand Bay, Alabama on Saturday and Mason finally got to see some more of the animals he's been learning about.

But we went to the Watermelon Festival for WATERMELON.

Mason thought about whether he wanted some watermelon . . .

and of course he did.

He ate some straight from the rind for the first time . . .

and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Then he went to the beach for the first time. "What IS this yucky stuff on my hands?"

"Mommy, wash it OFF!"

Later he enjoyed the spaghetti lunch,
and sweetly posed for a couple of pictures with Mommy and Daddy.

His Feet as Newborn versus One Year

I combined the photos of Tina holding Mason's feet when he was a newborn and when he was a little over one year old. My what a difference a year makes.
